Daily Doodle 0058 What Do Cats Think About?

And now you know.

This image was first sketched out in Sketch Book Express and then exported into Photoshop CS5 where it was rendered and shaded. I decided to add the mouse after I had finished the initial work on the cat as when I looked at it, the puss seemed to be pondering something. Lost in thought or starring blankly like cats do sometimes.

Daily Doodle 0055 John Howe, Dragons on the Mind

John Howe is a legend in the fantasy art and illustration world. He is known for his Lord of the Rings paintings and his work on the films, the many books he has released and his epic beard. Well maybe not. I have had the pleasure of interviewing him twice and have been a fan of his work for years. So I thought I'd honor (or insult) this great guy by doing a digital portrait of him and include one of his creations in the piece.

Daily Doodle 0049 The Toaster of Carkoon

Yesterday, Chris Harrendence ("Redbubble Profile":http://www.redbubble.com/people/cjharrendence) issued me a challenge to create a kitchen appliance that was possessed. Today, I drew this in Artrage. Some of you may notice the Star Wars reference.

It's about time that Photoshop was used in my Daily Doodling, but it was only used to darken and add highlights to the line work I created in ArtRage Studio Pro. This character is Shud and is the brain child of the original Octo Chimp, Mark Adams and is part chimp and part octopus. Quite brilliant really. This is just my take on his character and one I might have to revisit again soon.
